A pot-distilled rum from Moet-Hennessy, 10 Cane is made with only the first pressing juice from virgin Trinidaian sugar cane, rather than the molasses that most white rums are derived from. 10 Cane rum is named after the tradition of hand-harvesting and bundling sugarcane stalks in groups of ten. The result is a very clean, airy, yet velvety rum, best compared to an aged cachaca.

Unlike most rums, which are produced from molasses, 10 Cane Rum begins with fresh pressed sugar cane grown specifically for the purpose in Trinidad. The result is a very clean, airy, yet velvety rum, best compared to an aged cachaca.
Like Cachaca and French or Haitian "rhum agricole", 10 Cane is made from fresh sugar cane juice and blended with aged molasses rum.
10 Cane production process is described by Moët Hennessy as "artisanal", that is, using a small batch production process and high ingredient quality standards. It is fermented for five days at a low temperature, double-distilled in small batches in French pot stills, then aged in French oak barrels for ten months. This aging process gives 10 Cane its light golden color.
10 Cane has fared relatively well at international spirits rating competitions, earning generally good marks from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and Wine Enthusiast. The former gave 10 Cane rum one double gold, two gold, and four silver medals between 2006 and 2012. Wine Enthusiast rated 10 Cane in its "90-95" point interval in 2005.
Tasting Notes:
The nose is luscious and inviting, with notes of pear and apple along with hints of vanilla and caramel. The sweet, warming and velvety palate is everything a good rum should be and has an underlying taste of honey and citrus. The finish is long and portrays pure sugar cane to perfection with a sweet, oaky snap
