In 1828, Abel Planat created CHATELLE, a rare French Brandy
whose distinctive blend and elegant design have made it a favourite
of connoisseurs. Planat named CHATELLE after his great-grand
father, the Châtelain (Lord) of La Faye Castle, and inscribed
an “N” on the CHATELLE coat of arms to commemorate his
brother’s close friendship with Emperor Napoleon I.
