Glendalough Grand Cru Burgundy Cask Finish Single Cask Irish Whiskey (700 ml)

One of the earliest craft distilleries in Ireland, Glendalough, was established in 2011 by five friends. By the turn of the millennium, there were only four major distilleries left on the island producing whiskey. They produce numerous whiskies, gins, and vodkas. St. Kevin, an abbot who lived in Glendalough for a while and lived in the seventh century, is depicted on the bottle.

All of the distillery's whiskies are aged in a barrel other than the typical ex-bourbon one because one of the distillery's main areas of attention is on the wood. A single-grain whiskey called Glendalough Grand Cru Burgundy ages for three years in former Bourbon casks before spending another year in former Grand Cru Pinot Noir casks from Burgundy. 366 bottles were produced by each of the 12 barrels.

An Irish whiskey with only one malt that was released as a Glendalough Single Cask. It is originally aged in a first-fill bourbon barrel before moving into a Grand Cru Burgundy Pinot Noir wine barrel. As a result, the whiskey is sweet and fresh with hints of citrus, summer berries, and peppery oak aromas.

This is an uncommon treasure for your cabinet because just 366 bottles were made. While the body is jam-packed with dry citrus and rich berry notes, the fragrance has a rich, bright surge of vanilla and dark cherry.
