Product Description
Old Pulteney 21 Year (700 ml) (Limited Stock)
Old Pulteney 21 Year Old has been voted 2012 World Whisky of the Year by the prestigious "Jim Murray's Whisky Bible." Scoring a record-equalling 97.5 points out of 100, it is only the third time that a single malt has ever won the prestigious award, and we are just the second Scottish distillery to do so.

History
Old Pulteney Distillery is located in the far north of the Scottish mainland. Wick is an area rich in maritime history, once known for its herring fisheries, and the distillery's opening coincided with this boom in the fishing trade. The fishing industry all but died out there, but the distillery has long endured. Fun fact: the shape of the bottle with the bulbous neck is a reflection of the unique stills, which are missing the traditional "swan neck" because they were too tall for the original still house. This single malt is matured entirely in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, mostly second-fill.
Tasting Note
Nose: clear and slightly salty, walk on the beach, washed-up seaweed, sweet ripe apples and pears, pineapple, lemon, cherry compote, mint, galia melon
Palate: Creamy, toffee, vanilla, baked red apple with a hint of smokiness and a dry finish.
Finish: quickly becoming dry, at the same time sweet and juicy, cherry, pineapple, light bitterness as from the bite to a tangerine skin, Campari, espresso, banana, removes a bit of licorice ...
